? THE HANDY HACKS

Step Inside America's Ugliest House – Then See What Alison Victoria Did to It.

In Vershire, Vermont, deep in the woods, there once stood a 3,400-square-foot home that defied all logic. Its exterior was a jarring mix of brick brown, fire-engine red, and vivid blue. Odd angles and mismatched materials clashed at every corner. A plastic moose head hung by the door. No one could quite explain it. The homeowners, Dylan and Brooklyn, had nicknamed it "the Mishmosh Hodgepodge" - and it was officially crowned the ugliest house in America for Season 7 of HGTV's popular renovation show.

Inside, things got even stranger. The main living area featured electric blue walls, highlighter-yellow accents, and Pepto-Bismol pink seating. The furniture was made of exposed wood, concrete, stone, and corrugated metal - all thrown together without any clear plan. A real tree grew up through the center of the house, poking into the vaulted ceiling. It was the only feature the couple truly loved. "When I first showed Dylan the house," Brooklyn said, "he thought I was joking."

The kitchen was equally bizarre. Brown concrete floors met countertops made of floor tiles. Wooden monkeys adorned the cabinets - sculpted creatures hanging from shelves with no explanation. A jungle theme seemed to have taken over. Yet Dylan and Brooklyn saw potential. They wanted to "make it less circus-like" but keep the quirky soul. Then HGTV's Alison Victoria stepped in with a $150,000 budget and a vision.
